Our story
Our story at Prickly Pear Farm & Home began with a spark of inspiration. Ellie, a Kansas State University graduate with a degree in Agribusiness, had been deeply involved in her family's farm but wasn’t quite sure where her path would lead. One day, a casual conversation about taking over the local lumberyard sparked an idea. Ellie knew this was an opportunity she couldn't pass up – especially with the right people by her side: her parents.
Her dad, Jimbob, a man of many skills had spent the last 15 years as head of maintenance at Tyree Ag, gaining invaluable skills for the job and able to fix anything. Before that, he worked on the family farm, where he developed a deep understanding of farming, and also gained valuable experience working for an electrician. All of these skills allow him to help customers with repairs and advice!
Her mom, Jeannine, brings a wealth of experience to Prickly Pear Farm & Home, having managed her own farm for over 40 years. Her deep understanding of agriculture, paired with the business acumen she developed over the decades, makes her an invaluable part of the team.
Together with her families strengths, Ellie’s leadership ensures that the business runs smoothly and continues to grow. Together they built Prickly Pear Farm & Home into what it is today- a place driven by family, hard work, and a shared passion for serving the community.

Meet Wrenn, our friendly and loving golden retriever! Wrenn comes to the store every day, greeting customers with a wagging tail and plenty of affection. She’s a cherished part of the Prickly Pear Farm & Home family and is sure to bring a smile to your face whenever you stop by.
